After many days of mental practise...well throw in one or two of physicals, yesterday i convinced my body to try my fisrt half marathion race...the longest distance i have ever attempted on foot...during the 4th StanChart Nairobi Marathon.

For starters lets just say running a marathon is no easy task let alone when the body is not well conditioned. No amount of mental psych gets you there since you require the right body parts...legs...working weell to get you to the finish line. The sorry state of matters is augmented by the other contestants who are well prepared...well some are at the office...!

However the elation of crossing the finish line...2 long hours and 20 minutes later...made me swear to do this again... and i rewarded myself with hours of sleep in the afternoon! celebrating victory i call it.

The most important learning for me is that 'in whatever i do i need to plan and prepare thoroughly, but better still i have to put my words into actions!! Further my efforts should be concentrated in the right directions...the body and not the mind in this case.

As my friend says Proper Planning Prevents Particularly Poor Performance (the 6Ps as we know it). I have known this for months now but just did not do it. I can honestly speak for many by claiming that sometimes we lack the inertia to put those 'wise words' into action. However the results of this little discipline are stupendous!
